Seventeen-year-old Bell Asbury, a girl with an extraordinary but volatile gift for fusing magical elixirs, has always been told to stay away from the Night Bazaar during La Festa di San Giovanni, the weeks when the island’s magic is most potent. One night she can’t resist, and while inside the magic market overhears her sister’s fiancé making treacherous plans that involve her and her sister.
Her race to stop him uncovers a tangled web of secrets that lead to a gentleman called the Seller of Secrets and his plot to brainwash the entire island to obey him using a deceptive elixir. Bell alone can create an antidote, but her experiments risk the sanity of those she loves. As she searches for the cure, she finds herself falling for Rian, a mysteriously charming spy who offers to help her defeat the Seller of Secrets. When Rian falls back into his old deceptive ways, Bell must decide whether he’s capable of honesty or is playing a long game to control her gift.
